JANET DOUGLAS

JANET DOUGLAS - Paralegal
Enfranchisement

Janet joined Jaffe Porter Crossick LLP at the end of 2007.  She was previously employed by Roiter Zucker in 1994 as a Legal Secretary until she became a Paralegal in 1999.

Summary of Work
Janet works in a supporting role dealing with individual lease extensions and collective enfranchisement of blocks of all sizes, the biggest block comprising 132 flats. She is skilled in drafting notices and participation agreements.

She also works independently in dealing with putting in place 999 year leases after completion of the purchase of the freehold of blocks. Janet is skilled in dealing with lessees, answering their queries and helping them to understand the enfranchisement process.

Skills and Approach
Janet has excellent interpersonal skills and relates well to clients.  Janet offers invaluable support and back up in respect of the enfranchisement work undertaken by the department

 

JEMMA PASSARD - Paralegal
Enfranchisement

Career
Jemma joined Jaffe Porter Crossick LLP at the end of 2007. She was previously employed by Roiter Zucker in 1998 as a secretary until she became a paralegal in the summer of 2004.

Summary of Work
Jemma works in a supporting role dealing with individual lease extensions and collective enfranchisement of blocks of all sizes. She is skilled in drafting notices and participation agreements.

JEMMA PASSARD

She also works independently in putting in place new 999 leases after completion. Jemma also gives secretarial support if and when required.

Skills and approach

Jemma is approachable, friendly and supportive and relates well to clients.  She offers invaluable support and back up in respect of the enfranchisement work undertaken by the department.

 
AGNIESZKA SNOPEK

AGNIESZKA SNOPEK
Trainee

Career
Born in Poland she is a masters degree graduate in Polish law. Agnieszka gained two years experience in a West End based firm specializing in residential conveyancing and immigration law.

Having completed a Graduated Diploma in Law (CPE) Agnieszka joined Jaffe Porter Crossick in March 2007 as a paralegal in their Leasehold & Enfranchisement Department dealing mainly with lease extensions and licences.

Summary of Work
Agnieszka (known as Agnes) has since joining Porter Crossick (and now at Jaffe Porter Crossick LLP) worked in the area of Leasehold Enfranchisement and in particular Lease Extensions. She was instrumental in organizing and completing Lease extensions for a block of over 60 flats, a task she performed both efficiently and expeditiously despite the need to complete the matter within a very short timescale.

Agnes has now taken up a training contract within the firm and is currently training in Leasehold Enfranchisement.

Skills and Approach
Agnes is both calm and efficient and is undaunted by the work she does however big the task. She possesses an outgoing professional personality and has a good rapport with her clients.

Agnes is, of course, a fluent Polish speaker.

 

SOPHIA XUEREB
Trainee

Career
Sophia studied History at Kings College, London. She continued her studies at BPP Law School where she completed the law conversion and LPC earning a Commendation in her final year. In June 2007, Sophia joined Roiter Zucker where she was a Paralegal in the Leasehold Enfranchisement department and in January 2008 she joined the newly formed Jaffe Porter Crossick LLP as a Trainee Solicitor.

SOPHIA XUEREB

Summary of work
Sophia is currently training in the Litigation department having completed her first ‘seat’ in Leasehold Enfranchisement.

Skills and approach
Sophia is highly motivated and is really enjoying the challenge of her training contract. She has already taken on a great level of responsibility and always demonstrates a high level of attention to detail. She is very enthusiastic about all the work she undertakes and has a natural ability to interact with clients.

 

YAEL TORN-HIBLER
Trainee

Career
Yael studied at Brunel University, Uxbridge. She continued her studies at The College of Law where she completed the LPC. In February 2008, Yael joined Jaffe Porter Crossick LLP as a trainee solicitor.

Summary of work
Yael is currently training in the Leasehold Enfranchisement department and will soon be moving into her second ‘seat’ in Litigation.

Skills and approach
Yael shows a high level of enthusiasm in everything she is asked to do. She rapidly gets to grips with new files and responds well to challenges. She has a natural ability to communicate easily with clients and work colleagues. She is already using her close contacts with Israel to develop new business opportunities for the firm by bringing in new clients.
