She was responsible for launching a new Employment department for her previous firm, dealing largely with Employment Tribunal claims on behalf of employees. In 2012 she joined a niche employment law firm ranked in both Chambers and the Legal 500 where she built up her practice, working with business owners and HR professionals advising on all areas of employment law and HR related matters.

Summary of Work

Julie advises both businesses and individuals in all areas of employment law, dealing with both contentious and non-contentious matters including Employment Tribunal claims, strategic exits for senior executives, settlement agreements, contracts of employment and staff handbooks, disciplinary and grievance procedures, the enforcement of post termination restrictions, discrimination, TUPE, restructuring and redundancy. Julie works closely with the Commercial Team here at JPC in various types of corporate transactional matters including mergers and acquisitions, management buyouts and joint ventures.

Julie has extensive experience acting for start ups and established businesses in a variety of industries and sectors including professional services, retail, engineering, marketing & design, charities, the care industry and businesses with an international dimension. She approaches all matters with commercial awareness and provides pragmatic advice to her clients whilst always considering the risks and costs involved.

Julie adopts a collaborative approach to working with her clients. Whether it is working alongside business owners, senior management, HR professionals or other decision makers within a business, she gets to know the business, what drives them forward and what they are looking to achieve from any given situation.

When working with senior executives, Julie provides legal advice in relation to their individual employment rights and provides support in what is often a challenging situation.
