ARMA have reported that the appeal in this important Section 20 case was heard on the 14th October, having been adjourned from May due to a last-minute intervention by the Treasury Solicitor. The appeal was heard by The Master of the Rolls (Lord Dyson), Lord Justice Briggs and Lord Justice Bean. The Master of the Rolls is second in judicial importance to the Lord Chief Justice; the most complex cases traditionally come before the Master of the Rolls, so the involvement of Lord Dyson reflects the importance of the appeal.
Judgement has been reserved and so is unfortunately not yet available.
