Alexander is a solicitor and Senior Associate in our Private Client Team.

An experienced private client lawyer, Alexander advises individuals and families on all aspects of succession, tax and asset protection planning. Alexander works closely with his clients, and is focussed on understanding the concerns and priorities of his clients so that he can provide them with tailored, practical and effective solutions to their personal matters.

Examples of some matters Alexander has been involved in are as follows:

· Administration of estates ranging from modest non-taxable estates to multi-million pound cross-border estates with contentious elements or defective Wills.

· Court of Protection work including deputyship applications and advising on Office of the Public Guardian investigations.

· Inheritance Tax planning including providing advice on high value lifetime gifts, advice on the efficient use of reliefs, exemptions, and allowances, advice on the IHT effects of foreign domicile, multi-generational planning, complex post-death variations, advising on IHT efficient structures to settle probate disputes, and working cooperatively with financial advisors in providing comprehensive planning solutions.

· Lasting Powers of Attorney including their preparation in all circumstances and advising existing attorneys on their use in contentious situations.

· Lifetime Trusts ranging from declarations of trust over a residence to setting up discretionary trusts of high value business assets.

· Wills of all levels of complexity, including cross-border estates, providing for vulnerable beneficiaries or children from a previous relationship, and using Will structures in multi-generational IHT planning.
