Gas Safety (Installation and Use) (Amendment) Regulations 2018 - In force 6th April 2018

The Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998 (S.I. 1998/2451) provide that a landlord must carry out a gas safety check on any appliance and flue in the dwelling at intervals of not more than 12 months (reg.36). These regulations amend that obligation so that a landlord may elect to postpone that check by up to two months to allow for multiple checks to multiple appliances or flues to be carried out at the same time. That election may only be made once in relation to each appliance or flue in the premises.

The regulations come into force on 6th April 2018.
