Tony Irving

Senior Associate

Tony is a solicitor and is a Senior Associate in the Corporate & Employment Team.

Tony is known for his specialism in employment dispute resolution. His expertise was called upon in the case of Cherry Tree v Fanstone in 2007 which concern the assessment of loss following a dismissal in circumstances when the dismissed employee would have resigned in any event. The case is still cited in legal textbooks!

Tony is no stranger to the Court of Appeal and has handled many cases involving well-known brand names. He is also a member of the Solicitors’ Association of Higher Courts Advocates and can handle cases all the way through an Employment Tribunal without needing to instruct a separate barrister.

Despite this, Tony favours more cost-effective and conciliatory methods of resolving disputes such as negotiation, mediation and arbitration.
